Our people are what make Nicholsons great. It is all well and good having a lovely office with some cheeky perks, but without the right people we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Are you looking for a new challenge?
We’re on a mission to help clients define their future and start on a pathway that will see them achieving their goals.
We help clients secure their financial futures with great accounting, tax and business advice.
This means we need a team of smart accountants & business advisors and are searching for new professionals to join our team in 2023.

Let’s talk money
We’re told by recruiters that this is the number one reason why candidates choose one firm or another. Our salaries are benchmarked to the Hays salary survey for the East Midlands and we offer a structured, development-based twice yearly pay review.
We also reward suggestions with regular vouchers for new ideas and a scheme that could see you earn up to £5,000 tax-free for an idea that generates revenue or cuts costs.
We’re also a responsible employer and support our team when it matters – previously passing on the 1.25% saving announced in the mini-budget to our team.
Development
You are a vital part of our service and therefore we will invest in you. We want all team members to develop their technical skills, learn new things and enrich their soft skills.
Confidence from competence is so important that it underpins our whole business strategy.
We invest heavily in this with each team member having a bespoke training and development plan and a pathway to develop their career with us.

In addition to in-house, online and offsite courses we use huddles, stand-ups and town hall meetings to develop our knowledge and learn.
We are active in local groups like the Lincolnshire Angel Network and the Lincolnshire Financial Intermediary Forum and have great links with the local LEP and Chamber of Commerce which ensure we learn about what’s going on around us from those in our community.
For our trainees we are members of the AAT, ACCA and ICAEW training programmes. We’ve also had five team members be awarded as finalists in the apprentice of the year at local business awards in the past six years.

Where you will work
All of our offices enjoy a modern feel to them. We operate a clean desk policy and have space for our team to socialise away from their desk.
At Lincoln, we have a wellness area. This is a room where team members can go to take a break or gather for a break and impromptu guitar session!
We’ve operated a flexitime working hours scheme for around 17 years. This means that you can work your hours anytime between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm (core business hours are 9.30am to 2.30pm).
We also offer various working from home options to team members who can manage their own workload.
What our team say
While we are proud of the culture and work environment we have created, we think our own team say it best.
Here are a few success stories from our team:
Sam Landa
“I like how friendly everyone is. From the day I had my interview everyone was really welcoming so when I got the job, I was really excited and from day one it has been such a positive environment…”
Amelia Start
“Having an experienced team around me has helped develop my skills and knowledge…They are professional, and you are treated like an individual.”
Georgia Priestley
“I get great support from my colleagues at Nicholsons. I have always felt welcome to the team and they always provide guidance and encouragement.”
Equal opportunities
We are all about building a workplace for the future. We believe in equal opportunities, and we celebrate diversity. We are an inclusive workplace where everyone is welcome, everyone can be natural, and everyone can be the best versions of themselves.
Nicholsons are members of the Hidden Disabilities scheme and are committed to supporting candidates with hidden disabilities through our recruitment process. Be sure to mention anything you think we need to be aware of when applying.
We’re also proud of our gender pay record and even though we don’t need to, we publish our gender pay results each year.

Community
Being active in the communities we live and work in is a core value. In addition to our charity of the year we also give team members separate days off during the year to volunteer or do charity work of their choice.
We are also supportive of local events such as C2C2C which raise thousands of pounds for local charities.
We also encourage our senior team to volunteer in local organisations and current have roles at Bishop Grosseteste University, Scouts, Ling Moor Primary School [and others].
