Richard works with a large and diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders through to large manufacturing clients – predominantly based in the Lincolnshire area. Richard also has key specialist knowledge in the property and letting sector, and also looks after the majority of our rural farming sector clients.
Richard enjoys nothing more than sitting down with his clients and working through what the numbers within their end of year accounts mean for them. Richard works very closely with Gail, Nicholsons Independent Financial Adviser, to offer proactive financial advice on both personal and business matters.
Richard joined Nicholsons Chartered Accountants in 1980 and has been a partner at the firm from 1987, subsequently becoming a director in August 2016. Richard is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA).
As the Managing Director, Richard has taken a hands-on role in the development of Nicholsons from a traditional accountancy practice into a forward thinking firm of personal and business advisers in tune with the challenges of today’s business environment.
Over the years Richard has been an active member of Round Table, taking great pride and satisfaction from the part he has played in raising money for charities in the local area. Richard is now a member of 41 Club – which comes about when you become too old for Round Table!
Richard is married, and now that his two sons are grown up and have left home, this leaves him with more time to explore the world – recently spending time travelling through Canada where his eldest son is now based.
Richard’s number one hobby at the moment is golf; however he is a keen fan of most sports and can still sometimes be seen donning his football boots and playing 5 a side with the Nicholsons team!
