As with throughout the pandemic, it is important to follow the Government guidelines and keep up to date with any changes. As it stands, there are no restrictions on these parties, so they are able to go ahead. However, it is important to remind staff that these events are optional, some may not feel comfortable attending everts in the current climate.

Do we have to allow parents and carers time off to attend school events?

You should refer to your workplace policies to see what you have in place. You may offer paid time off, or unpaid/employees must work the time back. You should be consistent and fair. You do not have to allow employees this time off, but if it is reasonable you should consider it.
