Our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party was extremely well attended by professionals from across the business community, all gathered for an afternoon of conversation and connection. The tables groaned under an inviting spread of tea, coffee, and a wonderful selection of sandwiches, scones with cream and jam and delicious cakes. The warm and welcoming atmosphere encouraged our guests to relax and talk freely.
On a more serious note, we were delighted to welcome Courtney Robinson from
The Bridges – Hull, part of our Charity of the Year, The Forward Trust. Courtney shared insights into the organisation’s work supporting people in overcoming addiction, rebuilding their lives, and moving forward with hope and purpose.
One of the most powerful moments of the day came when her colleague Sarah talked about her own experiences at The Bridges. Sarah shared her personal journey, reflecting on the challenges she has faced and the strength it has taken to move forward. Her words resonated deeply with everyone in the room, offering both inspiration and a reminder of the importance of compassion, understanding, and community support.
As well as supporting the food banks in Lincoln, Grimsby and Market Rasen, Nicholsons has chosen to work with The Forward Trust, a charity very close to the heart of our staff member, Amelia Start. Amelia says I am extremely grateful to be working with and supporting the Forward Trust. After losing my best friend, Sophie, in 2024 to addiction, I never want anyone to go through what Sophie’s friends and family have endured. The Forward Trust aims to break the stigma around addiction and provide support for those who are struggling. It is important to me that we support The Forward Trust so they can continue helping those who need it most. It was inspiring having Courtney and Sarah at our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to share their personal experiences and give a deeper insight into the great work they do.
The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party combined meaningful conversation and reflection with light-hearted banter in a party-atmosphere. It was a unique occasion filled with connection, courage, and hope……all washed down with the perfect afternoon tea.
