Nicholsons extends support to Grimsby Food Bank

News Grimsby Food Bank

In an ongoing effort to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the communities we work in, we are delighted to announce the extension of our support to the Side Door Youth and Community Church Food Bank based in Grimsby. This new partnership underscores our commitment to addressing food insecurity across Lincolnshire by supporting food banks from Lincoln up the A46 through Market Rasen to Grimsby.

The decision to expand support to Grimsby comes as part of our broader mission to uplift the local community.

The Side Door Church Food Bank is a vital resource for those in need, and will benefit from regular donations of essential food items gathered in the Nicholsons Chartered Accountant office in the Enterprise Village.

This is not just another CSR activity in an endeavour to paint a positive light on our company.  It reflects the company’s deep-rooted belief in supporting the communities we work in.  Director Kate Brown “We see it as our duty to give back to the communities that have supported us throughout the years. Hunger knows no boundaries, and by extending our support to the Grimsby Food Bank, we hope to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity in our region.”

We have already established a strong partnership with food banks in Lincoln and Market Rasen, with ongoing contributions aimed at alleviating hunger and supporting families in need. This commitment to multiple food banks across Lincolnshire highlights our dedication to tackling food insecurity comprehensively.

Elaine Watkinson from Side Door Church added, “We started providing food during the Covid-19 lockdown and since then we have seen the demand grow and grow which is where we find ourselves today with demand higher than ever. Our mission statement has always been to ‘love them until they ask us why’ and this is at the heart of our food bank provision, as we offer more than food, by way of conversation, and a safe and warm space.”

The Grimsby Food Bank, like its counterparts in Lincoln and Market Rasen, plays a crucial role in providing emergency food assistance to individuals and families facing financial hardship.

We encourage all our employees, clients and professional contacts to participate actively in donating food and supplies and take time to understand how we can raise awareness to ensure a brighter future for those in need.
